Repair Ongoing – Blackridge Rd & Swords Creek Rd.

Repairs are currently under way at the intersection of Blackridge Rd. and Swords Creek Rd.

This location represents a major intersection of the District’s primary water distribution feeds in all directions.

What residents in the vicinity of this intersection can expect:

  • Beginning August 5, 2025, crews will be on-site excavating and confirming utility locations
  • The contractor will then begin placing new water main piping in preparation for reconnections and “switchover” to use of the new mains.  It is likely that this work will continue through the weekend.
  • As soon as possible, and following completion of the first two items above, the contractor will isolate existing mains and make connections to the new water mains (including testing and disinfection).  This work will require a water outage for approximately 60 homes located along Blackridge and Swords Creek. This outage is expected to last approximately 10 hours.  Our plan is to have the water main repairs completed on or about August 15, 2025.
  • Prior to any outage, affected residents will be notified with a door hanger (in advance) and given advice to take measures in preparation for a water outage (fill tubs, etc.), and we anticipate providing bottled water for those affected residents.
  • The outage to these customers may result in the need to issue a boil water notice (for those customers affected). The boil water protocol should last no longer than 48 hours. Affected residents will be notified.
  • Once the water main repairs are completed, the District and Harris County will determine the extent of paving repairs/replacements necessary at this intersection. This will take an additional several weeks to complete.

Thank you for your patience while these repairs are underway.
