Low Wind Chills and Hard Freeze likely this Weekend. Wind chills may drop into the 20s to mid teens Friday night through Sunday morning. Much of the region will likely experience a Hard Freeze.

An Extreme Cold Watch has been issued from Saturday evening through early next week. Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 5 to 15 possible, with the coldest values Sunday night into Monday morning. A hard freeze is also possible Saturday night and Sunday night with lows in the 10s to lower 20s. Some areas north of I-10 may remain below freezing all day on Sunday. Now is the time to prepare! Protect people, pets, plants and pipes from cold weather!

Heritage Park will be temporarily closed from January 20 through January 27 to allow for rehabilitation of the walking trail. This work is necessary to ensure the trail remains safe and accessible for all residents.

A Freeze Watch is in effect for the Houston Metro and surrounding counties from late Sunday night through Monday morning. We’re looking at low temps between 27-32°F. Don’t forget to prepare the “4 P’s”: cover sensitive plants, wrap outdoor pipes, bring pets indoors, and check on family and neighbors.

The Little York Fire Department Santa Tours bring holiday cheer to every corner of the district as Santa rides atop our festive float, escorted by fire trucks spreading lights, sirens (the fun kind!), and smiles.
